Did you know?
– That with the entry into force of the ACT ON THE TREATMENT OF ILLEGALLY BUILT BUILDINGS (Official Gazette NN86/2012), you are now able to legalize existing construction through a simplified procedure, even in cases where it conflicts with the spatial plan.
– That you cannot sell, gift, or use an illegally built building or the land on which it stands as loan collateral.
– That the real estate fiscal register will record all properties according to their actual condition, both legal and illegal. Tax will also be paid on illegally built properties according to their state of construction, and their users or owners will not be able to receive any relief until they legalize those structures. In simpler terms, everyone with an illegally built structure will pay property tax at the full rate of 1.5% of the property’s market value, while those with a legally built property in which they live will pay 0.2–0.5% of the market value (i.e. a relief of 88 to 95%).
– That an application for the legalization of buildings under this act can be submitted no later than 30 June 2013.
